First log: 25.08.2018 ===============
With Antsrus listing new queens and woody already started a journal on Pogonomyrmex badius, I thought I'd give it a try I ordered a Queen on Wednesday and come this morning in a shoe sized box, I did wonder at first it could be something else. But when I opened box there was heat reflective bubble rap and under that news paper then a bubble rap rolled around a test tube,
Well packed I have to say.
Queen already had a larvae with her and 3 eggs but after about a hour when I checked again she had eat them, But the larvae was ok and she was already settled when I taken a small video of her cleaning her self.
As of now I'm going to leave her in test tube in a warm draw, I was going to do what Woody has done with his but since she has a larvae and seems settled so I to just left her as she is and tried her on some small nut fragments from crushed seeds which she's now feasting on in entrance to test tube.
In afternoon before I go to bed I will remove nut left overs as I know there can rot once exposed to air.
My queen also seems smaller then woodys as she's just a little bigger then a messor super major but a little smaller then a queen.
===================================== ===================================== PS. By the way the wet drip dot in test tube is her poop close to her cotton water ><

First time I check on queen for month and she seems fine with around 7 eggs, I gave queen some seed nut to see if she will eat some.
I will leave it at entrance so I can also remove it tomorrow. There is also evidence that shes eating her own eggs still.
I hope some will become larvae over next month but for now I'll let her settle.

This queen confuses me to bits . She lays lots of eggs then next there gone, Its also her 4'th time I had a new test tube move over cos she keeps pooping on her drinking cotton that can mould after 4 days that is a health risk for her.
She is doing fine but very messy queen. I hope she don't accidently keep eating her eggs when she moves them. I do fear she can be clumsy with her jaws crushing eggs when she moves them, Hope time will tell she starts a colony.
