I have not been very successful with L.niger but today they seem to have moved in with me. I came home today and I saw a line of ants by my door, I opened my front door and the line continued to my kitchen I followed the line up the wall and into my wall unit and to my pot of honey So I removed the honey pot and wiped the shelf down. I didn't want to kill them so I thought I'd remove the food source, did that stop them no lol. They are as I write this climbing over my computer desk and all over my living room I'm hoping they don't get into my own colonies and I'm hoping they are gone tomorrow Not sure how long the wife will put up with them till she gets some spray/powder. She said she don't mind them outside or in a tank but not living in the house, that's a no no..... Shawn

Sorry, but reading your post did make me chuckle It's typical, we find nigers can be hard to keep in captivity, and yet they get everywhere! This area is over-run with nigers and flavus. We live on the 1st floor, and yet it was nigers that climbed up my hosepipe, that I had draped outside the kitchen window down to the ground level (How did they know to forage upwards ). This saved me carrying water up and down the stairs, for the garden. They found Woods Insectivorous plants on the window sill and stopped there, for the sweet sticky secretion all over them. They never did find the kitchen cupboard Have you washed the doorstep down as well and some of the trail, as the scent of the honey will be well established? They don't like peppermint oil, or anything that stinks like "Jeyes Fluid" they will stay clear of. For some odd reason, my wild nigers have taken to the underneath of my garden wheelie bin lid, I find trails of them everyday Now nigers getting computerized, that is bad news. We did have a chap on here that actually had ants get inside his keyboard and they caused havoc. I hope it is sorted soon
