Everyone talks about African bees, Argentine ants or Fire Ants as being invasive; and as far as the places they move in and colonise are concerned, then yes, they are. But we really should look at it from another angle. The fact that these insects are now in places they are now means just how successful they are at adapting. Were it not for black African slaves being taken to America, or white people invading the lands of the native American Indians, or people moving from one country to another, then we would never have had multi-cultural societies would we? I don't really think we should blame ants or other animals and plants for doing this, as it is like the pot calling the kettle. If we found another planet like ours, would we not wish to send people to colonise it, even if it were already inhabited. None of our history shows that we are content to remain in our own land, as we Brits are a right mixture of races going back to the Roman invasion; and it has always been mankind who has wanted more space to live in. So don't blame the ants for being where they shouldn't be, as none of us really are if you look back in your history books
