Hello everyone
I am really worried because I didn't think it through, but I have a colony I bought in an ant world they are L.niger queen and 2 workers nanitics. They are nesting in the feeding box the round magnifier thing they have laid eggs but I have to open the box to feed them and I worried it will or has stressed the queen out too much I only open the lid twice a week to feed them but will this disturb here to much or is it alright?

Ideally you need the dish in the light and the farm in the dark, as you really need them to move from there.

P.S. try not to stress them too much when shining the torch at them as they are only two nanitics strong, so it may take some time for them to move the eggs. Good advice nest mate, we'll make a Myrmecologist out of you yet ;D

Cheers for all the help
but I must say haven't seen any of the workers go to the sand part when I look they are always next to the queen unless what looks like they are foraging which rarely happens but I haven't looked allot to stop stressing the queen out. I will put the ant farm in the dark I will just turn the light on in the room to put the dish in the light.
but I also seen something which really worries me is that I went into the room to take a piece of apple out and I seen the queen curled into a ball but when I opened up the lid she moved quick. Is she dying?. when I got her there seemed to be mold in the test tube in which she came in but if it was mold it had just started to grow.

Finally the ants have dug into the sand which I'm Happy about, can only be good news I suppose.
