I watched the movie film A Bridge Too Far again last night for about the 17th time, as although Operation "Market Garden" [ en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Bridge_Too_Far_(film)] devised by Field Marshal Montgomery was not a total military blunder, it was a very risky plan from the onset; and Arnhem was heavily defended by an elite SS Panzer Division of crack German troops. My memorable moment from this movie is the British paratrooper playing a movement from J. S. Bach's Brandenburg Concertos ( Allegro from Concerto No. 6 in B Flat Major) on his flute, and then later he is seen with part of his hand blown off, meaning he probably would never play the flute again In many ways this shows the horror and futility of war, yet we enjoy watching a good war film. I was lucky that I never served in any war, and feel deeply for those who are killed or injured in the service of their country, often in a war that has nothing to do with us? The war against Germany was to rid the world of dictators like Hitler, but we still find similar problems arising today sadly. A good soldier doesn't question orders and goes off to fight wherever they are sent, but wouldn't it be nice to see a peaceful world that has put an end to war So, what is your memorable movie moment and why?

Hmm, hard one for me, but I'd have to say Aliens (altho the chest burster in Alien was good(more so for its day)), just the scenes towards the ends with the xenomorph queen, it was just something that I'd never seen before so must have stuck in my mind, and with the graphics, lighting etc, even now I can still happliy watch that film many times over. ;D ;D

Adding the Predators didn't work that well, as I prefer them in their own films I'm still waiting for some producer to make a good Dalek movie, as we only had 2 back in the 1960's and are due for an epic big screen movie with the Daleks in it
