We are not even into Easter week, and schools have already broken up, it's ridiculous It's no wonder the new generations don't learn anything, and it will certainly come hard when they go out to work, if they ever do! We live amongst a load of student houses, they spend 2-3 hrs at college/Uni, the rest of the time they are on the green, sunbathing, playing frizbies and having BQ's And, they want me to work until I am 66 lifting and dealing with aggresive patients to make up for non National Insurance payers, I don't think so somehow. By the time the girls leave college, ha, ha, they will be pregnant and claiming benefits! They keep moving the goal posts, just as my age reaches anything to claim, it's moved back a few years. I will still be working pushing a zimmer frame at this rate. The Government should take into account, what you do before reaching a decision on retirement. Working at a computer desk all day, is not like doing a physical job. The Government don't want people to claim their pension at all really, they are hoping at 70 we will be pushing up the daisies! That is my gripe for the day

Lol being a college student (well sort of, not actually doing their course, just using the building), most of that does seem true, and most students there seem to do 1000 till 1500 with a hours lunch break in there (as well as siggy breaks), and still have plenty of time to just lay around sun bathing (not that I'm complaining ;D), what makes me laugh tho, is this week the college students have it off and I belive they still get EMA and a bonus, where as we have to still go in (0900-1630) wearing bright orange PPE (the orange uniform you see guys on the railway wearing), when we get it (should be this week), but I'm not really sure where I'm going with this . I dread to think what the retirement age will be by the time I get near to thinking about that , then again it's not the destination that matters its how you get there, but I'd still like a nice cold drink waiting for me when I arrive . Being in Year 11 myself, I have no complaints. ;D I'm going to enjoy the Easter while it lasts, then begin my exams. For the animal care course I want in college, I need a D for Maths...my main weakness. I have all of the other requirements for the course.

I remember when I was at school and college, Easter hols began on the week leading up to Good Friday and ended with the week beginning Easter Monday. Two weeks in total. No offence intended to those of our members still in educational institutes, but a lot of school, college and university students seem to have more time off these days than they do being educated. Personally I know that most of us, if we're completely honest, did not like being in school, especially if you were the ones getting bullied by illiterate scum who had to roam around in a gang to make themselves seem important; when actually they were nothing more than future prison inmates. We all have the capacity of brain size to be Einsteins, Bairds or Rutherfords; but as most of us only use a fifth of our brain, we only absorb what we want to learn; and not everyone can be a professor, heart surgeon or gifted musician, as somebody has to clean the drains or empty the rubbish bins So as long as you do your best to learn as much as you can, while you are young enough to absorb the knowledge, then stick at your studies and enjoy what you do best; and hopefully you will find a nice job that gives you personal satisfaction, even if it doesn't pay that much to make you a multi-millionaire overnight

my 15 year old is on Holiday for 2 weeks and I think she could do with it after all her exams but she must go onto school every day to do revision for maths/ English /French/science. today she must do from 9.00 till 3.00. I think kids do have more time off these days but they do a lot more work .
