It is with great regret that I bring to you word of the passing of my father Roy. He was just beginning a three month field stay in Kenya having arrived there only last Friday. He passed away quietly in his sleep of an apparent heart attack. Anyone knowing Roy will notice that going in ones sleep is not his style but at least he was in the field doing what he loved.

I am sorry to hear that Gorden. It is always sad to lose a parent, and always comes as a shock. Dying in your sleep is always the preferred way though. With Deepest Sympathy

You have my deepest sympathy and condolences, as having lost my own dad to cancer a few years back I know the pain it brings to a son As my dad died in similar circumstances, the best comfort you can have is knowing he died in what may have been a painless way; but the loss still hurts. I am glad that Roy passed away while doing something he loved, and that he hopefully didn't suffer. These times are always a sad occasion R.I.P. Roy, and you have left a loving son behind doing some great work.
