On Saturday I got 2 L.Niger queens with brood off ebay and should receive them this week. But I was speaking with my mother and she drops a bombshell on me by telling me we are going on holiday with a lot of family, something which I can't miss.
According to the ebay seller the queens come with brood but no workers, and I am going away Saturday and coming back on the Friday. has anybody got any ideas what I may be able to do feeding them because knowing my luck they will come with workers or workers will hatch while I am away?

Yes, the thing to do is don't panic. Ants can live for weeks or even months with little or no food, as they will, if necessary, eat some of their own brood to survive; but as you're only going away for a week, they will be fine and will not die of starvation during the time that you are away from them. They could survive a lot longer than this if they had to, as even if you went away for a month they would most likely be fine, so a week is nothing to worry about
