I wonder how many of us have asked the question, what is the meaning of life?
Having watched a few things on TV lately, like the Hubble telescope probing deep space, I now find that the universe is controlled by something known as "Dark Energy."

We know that in roughly 6 billion years our sun will die and this solar system will die with it, meaning the Earth will end up as a bit of burnt out rock floating in space
We are also told that in several trillion years the universe itself may end in some cataclysmic apocalypse.
As you cannot create something from nothing, the "Big Bang" theory does suggest that there was always something there to begin the universe in the first place. So the "Big Rip", as the end of the universe is called, may suggest that as the old ones dies, perhaps a new one may be born. Or perhaps life will continue in another universe parallel to this one, as there may be many more out there beyond our our own
I feel sure that if there other intelligent beings out there, they too must have the same fears of what may happen in the very distant future. We humans may be living longer, but it still doesn't mean we will be around to witness the end of our sun, or the end of our universe for that matter.
So, as to the question "What is the meaning of life?"
In the short span of a persons life, I think it is more important to leave just a little bit of yourself that others may remember you by. We cannot change the future fate of our solar system or the universe, but we can make a difference to our immediate future; and as we are all controlled by energy, and energy can only be displaced and not destroyed, then nothing really dies, it only changes to something else
Live for the day and enjoy life. Make a difference by making the most of your life. That is the true meaning of life, don't you think?
Post your ideas and thoughts on this topic, as it would be interesting to read what others think about it
