Many years ago I bought myself a Lopophora williamsii cactus, otherwise known by its common name of "Mescal Button". It was used by native American Indians in the past for religious ceremonies, as when its flesh was brewed into a drink it produced a strong hallucinogenic drug much like LSD, which also gave it the name of Whisky Cactus It is no longer used for such purposes nowadays. I have never before seen this cactus in flower, but after re-potting it just 5 days ago it has produced this very pretty flower on top. I do have other cacti that flower every year, but this is the first time I've ever had a flower on my Mescal Button
