Code for the thumbs up face is three question marks, like this. . Having them directly between two other characters seems to stop it, or you can check the box at the bottom of the post editor to disable them. Oh yeah, only three faces in a row, please.

I was about to point out that myself. AntsEngland please refer to the rules of the forum: queenant.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=report&action=display&thread=4816&page=1As you can see from the rules it is not allowed to post more than 3 smilies in a row. - Please do not overuse the Smilies, (for example= ) as this gets irritating and you can still express yourself with less. A maximum of 3 in a row is permitted; but NO MORE than this please! If you wish to use more, then spread them out across your post. Also DO NOT reply to anyone using just 1 word or 1 or more smilies with no words, as such posts are non-productive and they will be deleted. Again, I do not want to come across nasty or rude in anyway but please do respect the forum rules.

so does anyone have any idea about this pupae thing ?

Maybe something happened to it in the larval or pupal stage to make it die. Not every ant ecloses in good condition. Do Formica Rufa cocoons darken like a Lasius cocoon does as it becomes more mature? The cocoon's colour might indicate something.

Well my Camponotus queen had 4 pupae and the queen teared half of one open and then just left it. That ant died one day later, most likely suffocated and the other 3 she just left and they died shortly after . But that's not to say that it will happen to your colony but its a thing to be wary about.

I believe that Jenant was simply trying to avoid what is termed in some forums as 'backseat moderation', LotsofAnts. But I'm getting a bit worried about this thread, it's been derailed quite a bit. I suggest that you PM Jenant if you need to discuss it further. Good luck with that next pupa, AntsEngland.
