I should visit my dentist every 6 months, but often due to my chronic sinus problems I put these visits off for a bit longer. Each time I have a check up she (my dentist) cleans off the scale from my teeth, and always tips the chair completely flat. When I lie down flat I find that mucus in my nose can block the back of my throat, so I choke if the drill puts out a lot of water and the dental nurse doesn't use the suction fast enough.
This can be embarrassing for me as well as dangerous if I go into a panic attack, as I have to sit up quickly. I ask my dentist not to tip her chair flat, but she always forgets and claims that the chair is set to go flat as she likes it like an operating table. I have a check up this afternoon, so I hope it will be over fast as I hate going to the dentist, even though I like her as a person.
