Reading this article in the paper, it looks like we are going to need to wrap up this winter and that goes for our ants too! Worst Winter in 100years! Maybe they've got it wrong again

Fingers crossed they got it wrong again. I do not hate snow or rain or cold weather for that matter but I hate the fact I commute to work on a motorbike and that doesn't like snow!

I hope not! I really hate snow, the entire country grinds to a halt which really annoys me.

I hope they have got it wrong, but the only weather they seem to predict accurately is bad weather.
I love the snow, but here in England it's a rather pathetic amount compared to other countries and our winters are generally just more rainy days. Like Jonzii said, as soon as we get the slightest bit of snow the whole country seems shuts down, but elsewhere in the world they get huge drifts of snow and they continue life as normal.

We used to get very bad winters with thick snow drifts 50 years ago, some up to 7 feet deep or more; but now if we get 3 inches of snow the whole of Britain seems to grind to a halt as major roads are blocked. There are far more cars on the roads, but many silly drivers just use their cars for journeys which are totally unnecessary such as going half a mile to the local shop just to buy a newspaper. Far safer to walk, or if you fear taking your kids to school either walking or in the car, better to keep them at home than end up killing them and yourself on icy roads which the gritting lorries have not yet gotten to. I might have been a winter baby, but ice and snow are things I can happily do without.
