Can anyone give me a tip on how I can get rid of the condensation on my Atta set up? Its never been a major problem but since the drop in temperature outside the condensation is building up and sometimes runs down the side of the sphere onto the fungus, which is bad.
Any tips / ideas would be more then welcome

The only way to dry out condensation is to force warm air into the set up. This would require a good fan and some kind of heater, and a good strong air flow as ants in the wild make ventilation tunnels leading to the surface the same way that termites keep the air moving. Keeping the air around the set up extra warm during these colder months may help. So you could use a heated blanket or very warm towels, as heat is the only sure fired way of keeping excess moisture under some control.

I tried to unblock the holes in the top of the sphere but the ants just filled them back up lol. Ill have to try and get a heat mat on the side of the sphere as its only on the front thats near the perspex.

Warm up the surface that the water is condensing on. Water only condenses on a surface which is cooler than the air temperature.

Seen this is already answered like Wood and James said : ) , I have had to increase my temperature of my set up slightly as I was getting condensation due to the lower temperatures , its cleared a lot of mine up.

I've actualy dropped the temp in mine by a degree and raised the room temp to 20'c and its starting to vanish again. The ants seem to drink it lol.

So the further temp drop out side caused even more condensation to come but now its a problem as the fungus is finally touching the sides. I noticed the fans were moving quite a lot of air and with the set up being so small I came to the conclusion the air from the fans was hitting the perspex and bouncing back with cold air. I moved the soil warming cable from the back to run around the bottom of the set up and took the fans off for now and the condensation has started to go : )
Hopefully it will be long term but I'll let you know . Cheers Mark
