I really do not know why this colony failed, a quick check of the queen and she has 14 large larvae, she obviously is trying her hardest, just need to figure out, what to do for best when they need moved from the test tube, but I will not count my chickens etc, till we see if we can proceed to workers.

Larvae progressing very well, I even think there is a bare pupae, gave the queen some honey water and protein, all looking really good.

Am really happy to say, that there are 2 new worker ants and a few more to come, I have a very small acrylic tank and plan to place the test tube inside and just feed and water them in it but with no medium, till I am sure the colony is of a good size.

These girls are now in the new tank and also in the new clean test tube. There is a nice pile of eggs, and about 9 larvae still to come, that will be any day. I have put honey/water and some protein in the tank, I can see no reason why they will not find it, unless they fail to leave the test tube.

Aaarrgghhh jinxed you say, checked in on these girls to find most of the workers dead and the remaining 2 close to it, the queen is fine, my fault, there wasn't enough moisture in the tank, this is now my final attempt, she is in a small tank with a small amount of compost, if this doesn't work, then I will realise this queen into the wild before I kill her by accident.

Sad news, is there any chance you could boost her with a bit of brood from a wild lemani nest?

If I could find any I would, she still had 3 cocoons left , which should be any day really? So fingers crossed, she will have more workers soon
