I am slightly surprised to come in to work today and see exactly 5 workers running around! not a bad guess eh?!
might have one more by the end of the day, very happy with this little queenie! I have another LN colony with two queens that has more brood but hasn't developed as quickly as this single queen.

This colony is well on their way and sound fit and healthy to me!

They now have 7 little ones running around pampering the Queen, managed to get a fruit fly for them yesterday and they have demolished it. things are really starting to get interesting in this colony now. will try to get tome photos of them soon.
I am thinking that once they get to 10 workers they should be able to handle the transition into the formicarium?

Checked in on the colony this morning to see how they had gotten on over the weekend, there are now 10 workers! So the question is, are they ready for a larger container or should I wait until they have 20 workers?

It depends on whether the colony seems to need more space? If there is plenty of brood and you expect more workers soon, then a move into a more permanent home which is bigger is a good idea, as moving them now will mean they can settle down into colony life before the arrival of winter.
