I have been chatting to the Canadian niece who is staying in our elderly neighbours flat, as her aunt is still in hospital and may be going to a rest home soon. She tells me that she has never heard of Doctor Who and what am I talking about? So I wonder if the BBC TV show is shown on either Canadian or American television, as she had never heard of it or the Daleks before coming over to England 2 weeks ago, and says her TV stations don't show it at all, so I would like to know if our members over there have seen it?

I do have some American friends on warcraft and its broadcasted on Syfy channel in Canada and America mosty on cable tv,
If they don't have cable tv I don't think there will ever see it unless they rent it or buy box set.

I think that I've seen it on the Space Channel, I'll go check....
We have Doctor Who and then Doctor Who: Earth Conquest on there.

I think 8-)America and Canada have stopped buying the new series of bbc's doctor who and just broadcasting the older series.

Not really. There are small Doctor Who clans you can run into. But for the most part, Doctor Who is not a dominating aspect of American TV culture like it is in the UK.

Yes, my Dalek forum has a few members from the USA who say it is harder to watch over there, or to find Doctor Who related merchandise such as books or toys. We do get some very good TV series from the USA over here. My personal favourite being The Walking Dead, but there are quite a few others I enjoy too.
