A new journal I am starting to show the progress of my new colonys. There are two messor queens with brood+ eggs and a L- niger colony with a 6 workers + eggs and brood The ants where bought from ants-kalytta and are in great condition.
Messor colony 1 ( North) This queen will be placed in a small tank with a layer of sand paper ( I will post some pictures later)
Messor colony 2 ( South) This colony will be placed into a outworld connected to a "tall" style farm with a 2.1 sand loam mix ( pictures will follow)
L-Niger colony ( East) For the time being they will be in a basic tank for now so same as the North colony then I will move them into a formicarium once I have the funds to do so.

07.03.2015 update All the colonys are now set up in tanks they seem to be settling in well but I do not want to disturb them much. Messor queen 1 ( north) tank her test tube is in the small outword linked up to the nesting area ( I will put some card up to make it darker) her tube has been wrapped in red plastic so it will seem dark to her but I can keep an eye on the growth of the colony without disturbing them. Messor queen 2 ( south) tank She is being housed in a small tank till her colony produces a few workers which should be soon as she has a very large pile of eggs + some brood Last colony L niger ( East) tank The colony is fairly small atom with the queen around 6 workers and some eggs + brood and are being housed in a tank at the moment.

08.03.2015 update Just a quick update as something interesting has happened in the North Messor Colony. The queen is doing well and has burrowed and moved a good portian of the cotton wool blocking the water in the test tube to the entrance.
Other then that the other colony's seem quiet but doing well
