We have just brought our older female Cavalier K.C. back from having being neutered, and our other 2 dogs Bobby and Bess cannot understand why Katy smells different, is very tired and has been missing since 8.30 this morning. We expected the vets to place a plastic cone around her neck to stop her nibbling at the wound site, but all they did was cover the stitches with a dressing. It will take awhile for her to fully recover, but Katy is young and resilient at just 2 years of age, so we hope to see her back to her old self in 4 or 5 days time.

Katy (Blenheim in sig) has had a restful night, only turning on occasions. I managed to lift her off my bed this morning before she jumped off They are to stay quiet and no jumping about after this op, which is difficult for a dog of Katy's nature. She's had her medication and is drinking again thank-goodness, as I had to syringe it in yesterday with her being groggy. Hopefully I can get her to eat later, but no walks for the first week and then a short lead. We have a flight of carpeted indoor stairs to our flat from the hall, and keeping her from charging up and down them despite the baby gate at the bottom, is going to be a challenge.
