What does your partner, parents or other family/friends think of your ant keeping hobby?! My partner thinks I am nuts, but bless her she accepts it all the same and let's me get on with it. But, I comprised and agreed to have no setups in the house. I have now taken over the shed!

I am very lucky, as when I first met Jenny back in 1979 she was interested in the fact I loved ants. Over the years we've been married I have kept lots of ants, and it was her idea to make this forum for the pleasure of other ant lovers and to share our mutual interest in these fascinating social insects. My parents were fine about me keeping ants too, though my sister thinks I'm a bit of an oddity.

My partner humours me but the cleaner thinks I need committing! I'm sad for the fact that she can't see the beauty in such amazing complex creatures!

My wife thinks I'm a but nuts, but she does feed them for me when I'm away. My daughter sort of loves them but since my colony has more or less failed she has given up. My work mates love to rib me over them and compare my hobby to theirs, which mainly involve motorbikes, cars or other manly pursuits.
