With the severe floods over the past month in Northern England and Scotland, it is has been bad for those people who had their homes ruined; and for animals on farms and in the wild. Many hibernating insects have died, including ants and soil dwelling bees as they could not escape the rising flood water that has caused such misery. Natural disasters such as this are not uncommon, but seem to be happening more and more in Britain. I feel sad for all the people and animals these floods have affected, and especially for any animals and insects that have drowned as they could not leave their homes fast enough to save their lives.
