Sad to hear this morning of the death of yet another great rock idol, as David Bowie has died at the age of 69. He was fighting cancer for the last 18 months, but this famous musician and composer has finally lost his battle. Read more here.

All day though the media have drowned you with the news of his death. I think they have gone well over the top today, more so than other stars. I feel sorry for the family who go near the TV or papers. I disagree with the last video of Lazarus, where he lay on a so called hospital bed with bandages round his head and buttons for eyes, he then made a goulish retreat into a wardrobe. I think he went too far with that, a bit sick 4 days prior to his death.

Claire had some of his new album on when I came home as I have to say I did not enjoy it.He clearly knew his days were numbered ?

I guess the wardrobe was to signify that he's going into a dark place and not coming back? I.e the ending of the song?

I still prefer his Ziggy Stardust days back in the 1970's, and if you haven't seen his brilliant performance in the movie "Merry Christmas Mister Lawrence" then buy the DVD, as David's role as a WW2 prisoner in a Japanese Prisoner of War Camp is well worth seeing.
