I am playing the hits of Emerson, Lake & Palmer at the moment, and of course thinking of how good the keyboard player Keith Emerson was until his tragic apparent suicide earlier this month. We seem to be losing a lot of the song writers and musicians of the 1970's era lately, and I wonder how long will their music live on for, as we remember Mozart and Bach or Handel hundreds of years on; but of course we also hear how the planet will die in a few million years, as all things must pass. By then we may have moved onto a new planet if we haven't polluted this one so much it can no longer sustain life. We are the only life on Earth to have produced music, so for now I live each day as it comes and hope to enjoy great music for a good many years to come, as it is music which is the universal language that anyone can understand no matter what language they may speak.
