Bengalese Finches

We got 3 Bengal or Society Finches yesterday as our local aviary was doing a deal on them. As they are very social birds we have decided to return and get 2 more today. This video is not our birds, but shows they have a pretty song.


The first colour variant bird on this video is the same as 1 of ours.

Good job we went to get 2 more today as the aviary owner had sold a lot. Five is just right for the size of our cage, so I will make a small video of our little group as they're all different in both size and colour variant.

Our big brown finch died last night. It always seemed to drink a lot of water, but as the other 4 are all fine this morning we are not sure why the big one died unless it was just of old age? Our birds are in the same place as most of our ants, which are all okay, so it wasn't the extremely cold frost last night that was the cause of death.
We have buried him/her in the garden as we do this with many of our smaller pets when they die.
