I'm into fishkeeping !
It all began last year with the aquatic plants I wrongly ordered thinking they were mosses for my Myrmica rubra formicarium
I went on to buy shrimps, then fish, then discovered aquascaping, takashi amano, etc and it went quite wild
I currently own a 120L (29gal.) planted tank (80cmx30cmx50xm). It is my first aquarium so I made some mistakes. The first one being short on budget so I almost didn't plant on startup , one or two small stem plants and used enriched substrate and very low light (10w led) so I have algea since the start. I haven't been able to get rid of it yet, even if its better and better (I think
).
Now I have around 40w of light, nice stem plants and HCC carpetting, the HCC could be better (as every plant in the aquarium except the "easy" green stem plant that is red in the tips (I'm assuming its a sign it is happy). The carpet is covering around 90% of the supposed area but doesn't seem to gain heigth, mabe it grown sideways irst I don't know. the HCC is pearling. Substrate is quite thick ranging from 5cm to 18-20cm.
I had too much flow on the carpet so it grew algea but I moved the flow and it mostly went away.

I currently have a bacteria bloom I think, the water is white with what looks like smoke in it. I might have overfed during months I'm not sure if it is the cause. The water is rather good, I mean nitrates get to zero thanks to the plants so I need to add some with seachem nitrate for the plants. Nitrite are 0 too. And my GH is around 15, so quite high. The guppies I had loved it (I still hav some because some babies escaped the rehoming
so they live still here) and the Synodontis petricola seem to like it too. I had fun breeding guppies when I started, it's quite amazing to see babies growing and seeing new patterns !
You will see in the pictures that I have green algea in the back panel and on the rocks.

Sorry for the top left corner badly cleaned lol

The white is the sand I had in this part but it mostly went down under the gravel.

I just trimmed 2hours ago the stem plant at the hight of the stones so we don't see them in the pictures, also the water is quite cloudy.
