Ant drawings

Bit bored here in hospital, however I may be out in a week or so!

I took the time to do a bit of drawing. Here are some drawings of ants. I know they aren’t particularly good, but which species do you think each most closely resembles?

What do you mean "they're not particularly good"?! I couldn't do that! The first one looks a bit like Lasius to me, while the second reminds me of Camponotus.

Thanks buddy! You know, we just always judge ourselves and feel we could do better. I was thinking Formica sp, but I think yours fits better.

I'm okay at drawing made up monsters and that sort of thing, but realism isn't at all my strong suite. Be proud of your work.
I'd love to see more if you do them.

Thanks so much for the encouragement. I just did this one, but the ratios and shading are all wrong.



Tomorrow I plan to do either a barn owl or frog. Oh, and I want to do a stag beetle.
