Research has been carried out on Leaf Cutter and Army Ants by the University of Bristol, here in England, to observe how ants form long foraging trails which become 'super highways' over time. Used by many thousands of ants, such trails form clear cut pathways through certain areas which over time become much like our human roads and motorways, as the traffic gets to be like the rush hour on a busy day, with ants coming and going back and forth to their nest. Check it out for yourselves www.terradaily.com/reports/Ants_Show_Us_How_To_Make_Super_Highways_999.html
