Hi,
I am reminding any members who wish to write a journal, please make it known in the title it is intended to be a journal and it is placed in the ant journals board.
Secondly, if the author of the journal does not wish to have others comment on it, please say so throughout the journal as some members like it to be there own personal diary of their ant collections only. This will reduce any stress of what some forums see as hijacking posts. The normal threads on all the boards (except the journals) can be replied to by all members unless I have locked it for any reason.

With regards to any members who wish to make journals about the ants they keep, please remember that it is every members right here on Ant Hill World to create as many journals as they wish to. You DO NOT have to ask permission to do so, as you only need to ask Jenant if you want your own journals sub-board created; and those are for any member who is keeping several different ant species and wishes to make his or her journals more personal. All you have to do to keep your own sub-board is to post on it at least monthly, as if any journals are not posted on for longer than this it is assumed that the journals are no longer required. Old or dead journals are eventually moved in the archive, but if a journal is used often or a member wishes to resurrect an old journal that is archived, then it is a simple matter to move it back into the main board. Active journals will never be moved as long as they are in use, and if you don't want other members posting directly on your journal(s), then please make a comments thread in the sub-board provided for that purpose. You can copy and paste a direct link to this on your journals. So do please remember that you don't need permission to make any journals here, and feel free to make as many as you like, as Jen is only too happy to create a sub-board for you as long as you use it often enough; and it is only fair that you lose it if it remains idle for months on end, in which case your journals are moved back onto the main board, as they will never be deleted.

While many of you who keep ant journals update them at least once a month, we cannot expect regular monthly or weekly updates during the winter. So for members who have their own sub-board for their ant journals, as long as you post 1 entry from November to February to say your ants are inactive or hibernating, then your board will remain. During more active warmer months, from March to October, please continue to update your journals at least once a month. Any journal(s) not updated for longer than 4 months will be moved back into the main board, or may get moved into the archives if left longer than 6 months.

Some journals have not been updated since August 2012. If you are a regular member who keeps any journals about your ants, please remember that by not keeping your journals updated over the ant active months, they are in danger of being moved into the archives where you can no longer post on them.
