Hmmmm.....I see your point Buzz. My C.cruentatus have not arrived yet either. I did email Scott last week and he said no later than Thursday. Maybe his wife has sort of shut down the business until Adrian comes back as he is the only one who is interested in myrmecology right now and Scott is big into reptiles. The business will get back normal when Adrian returns.

Ants arrived today. What cracking looking specimens they are ;D Queen and 3 workers per tube, but sadly 1 worker did not make it and is at deaths door.. oh well. I am really surprised at how big they are, but makes making the nest escape proof a LOT easier. Just letting the plaster nests dry out and then move the ladies in!

You do realize of course that this is a monogynous species, so you can't mix the 2 colonies in the same nest as they will kill each others queen and workers.

Yes, but thanks for the heads up. 2 plaster nests drying out as we type. 1 Designed by me and 1 by my daughter, amazing how a little plaster and play doh can keep them entertained for ages LOL
