Our Messor's had a moth placed in their tank this afternoon. Quickly one of the workers dived out of her tunnel, circled it trying to decide what to do with it. She grabbed it, and dragged it over to the hole entrance. The look she gave it as she circled the food, undecided as to how exactly was she going to get a moth down a hole a quarter the size of the moth itself When I looked a few hours later, she had gathered re-enforcements, between them they dug the hole to virtually moth size and there was no sign of it Wood came to have a look, and placed a wax worm in, within seconds she dived out that hole and grabbed it underneath Talk about fast food

Both moth and waxworm are now deep in a chamber, surrounded by Messor structor workers It didn't take them very long to widen the nest opening and pull the food in
