Mugged

I was in Manchester yesterday, just hanging around our usual hang out, it's generally quite safe as its in open view and is generally crowded and swarming with police, but yesterday there seemed to be a lack of police around, I took out my phone to check the time when some scrawny little ran up and grabbed it, now, not to "blow my own trumpet," but I'm no push over, and certainly not an easy target for muggers, I kept my grip on my phone and pulled this other lad towards me and squared up to him, that's when I noticed it, one of his mates was jabbing something sharp in my back, thats when I decided to let go of the phone, as the three offenders legged it I saw a small craft knife in one of their hands, I was shocked! It isnt the fact they stole my phone that bothers me now, it's the fact that, on their own or in a group, I could easily have fought them off had they not been so cowardly as to use a knife! I feel, however, that I must compliment the police officers who came out to see me last night, they were a big comfort and handled the whole thing very well, I'm now waiting on a police woman to arrive at my house to show me some photos of known offenders matching the descriptions I gave, here's to hoping they have a photo of them! I am very sorry to hear about the mugging Nat, I hope that knife did not penetrate your jacket or your skin for that matter! They say possessions can be replaced, but it is the total act that you don't forget and the shock of it all. It makes you wonder if mobiles were able to be around your neck what lengths would they have gone, to pinch it It frightens me to go out with a camera/video, especially on my own, as today they will nick anything, just for drug money some of them, it is not always the item they want. I bet nobody came to your rescue either, as somebody must have seen it, seeing that it was so crowded.

Only one person tried helping, and that was one of my friends, He stepped forward and grabbed hold of my phone to try and keep it in my hand, but by the time he'd got his hand to it I'd let go!
And the knife did no damage luckily, just gave me a bit of a shock!

Not only thieves; but rotten little cowards too from the sound of things, as these types always go around in gangs and use strength of numbers, as well as weapons to intimidate folks Sorry to hear about your ordeal Nathan

Sorry to hear about this nat, is such a terrible thing, I never get my phone out in public anymore when I am on my own as I had a phone stolen from me a while ago.
I just wear a watch now if I want to know the time. Lots of criminals use craft knives now to mug people. Up here in Telford a man got threatened with one and they stole his pedigree dog which was later found drowned, you may have read about it in the papers. Is so annoying that British muggings are on the increase. I hope your ok though.

I'm sorry to hear about your loss, a few days ago my friends were mugged near Birmingham. 3 lads jumped out on them with some bats. My friends couldn't really do anything but hand over there money and things. What is england becoming ? its not even safe to walk your own streets. I have also been intimidated for my belongings once. But I was near my home and had my air rifle handy. So I do not think he will come close again .

Oh, cowards! They are the worst! They're "all bark and no bite, talking all hype" "why do cowards talk the loudest"-POD, brilliant band! Man, I never walk the streets alone, I always have friends or siblings with me.

Yep. Sign of the times I am afraid. A friend of mine got mugged in Nottingham by a Lad of 14 with a knife. However, the outcome was slightly different. The mugger ended up with the knife buried in his leg, by accident , he was then arrested in Hospital. He got off with a 18 month suspended sentence.

I know it's tough in Belfast, but some parts of England are becoming like 3rd world countries especially London and Manchester. But the truth is, only a small amount of crimes get announced on the media, the amount of shootings and stabbings that never make the news is unreal and that’s just my observations from my local area. The system just doesn't want people to know how out of control it's becoming. Guns are illegal, but that hasn't made them any less popular.
There’s just too many estates full of young people, with no hope that have been let down by the system. We are facing a dark era now with no chance of steady employment, if your classed as a 3rd class citizen.
