I have a nasty right eyelid infection at the moment, and as my left eye has optic nerve damage from when I was a child I was thrown under my grandfathers van in a car accident, making that eye have permanent blind spots, now my right eye vision is impaired This means I cannot read posts very well, so if I don't give any replies it isn't that I am not interested in your posts, it is just that I can't read them well to offer any answer. I rung the doctors today and forgot it was a UK bank holiday, so they were closed and I was transferred to a help line. Not much use when I need antibiotic treatment and cannot travel to a clinic which may be miles away So please remember there are lots of other members who can help, and Jen will be home later to help you all as I am suffering from this temporary disability which I hope will soon go away, as it is like having a needle pushed into your eye with the pain and I can hardly open it to see with

Bad luck, Wood. That sounds like a nasty thing to put up with. Of most injuries/diseases/infections, eye ones have to be some of the worst in my opinion. You'll get better though.

Wood has been given antibiotics and told a cyst has formed around a septic eye follicle. The Dr suggested washing his eye lashes thoroughly with a drop of diluted baby shampoo in water to stop any build up of bacteria forming after sleep.

I hope your eye gets better soon.
I hardly ever takes antibiotic but I did once some three years back. The doctor prescride a course of powerful antibiotic which I now in hindsight probably shouldn't have taken. The result was a severe case of candida overgrowth because the antibiotic killed off all the beneficial bacteria in my GI track.

Thank you for your kind messages guys. The pain was waking me up and keeping me up half the night on Sunday, Monday and most of Tuesday; but now the swelling is going down thanks to the antibiotic and my doctor telling me to bathe my eyes with a mild solution of baby shampoo of all things to clean the eye lashes It is still a bit sore, and I have to type slowly to see what I am posting, but at least I can see to post now
