Hello, I am happy to say that my rod licence has arrived! My mother presented it to me after arriving home from school. I have always wanted to try out fishing and got the opportunity to do so as my friend and I decided to try out fishing together as we both have always wanted to. We have both bought our fishing kit (recommended to us by some anglers) and have decided to go fishing not this weekend but the next. I am of course, a beginner so if there are any keen anglers around the forum who could give me some tips, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks, Blem12.

I'm not a professional angler, but I do go fishing at my Nan's, as there is a big lake in the grounds containing carp, eel, perch, koi and various other wild fish. I almost caught an eel last year, but it managed to snap the line. It's an interesting thing to do, and is a good test of your patience.

After a few months I hooked my first Crucian carp! I believe it to be around 2lb - 3lbs. Blem12
