The more I read about octopi, the more efficient they seem as predators. In this video, an octopus actually emerges from a rock pool in order to find food, travelling at a steady pace in the fresh air. They can already crawl stealthily on the ocean floor, swim at high speeds, change colours, create ink smokescreens and squeeze into tiny spaces. Now this. ;D Probably one of the most intelligent and cunning invertebrates around. Perhaps one day, they will begin to hunt for food on the coastlines.

Watching that video you can almost imagine what it must have been like for the first creatures that crawled out of the sea about a billion years ago. It must take time to adapt to living in air for a being that lives in water, and at no time did its body get dry which would help; but it shows how it may have happened watching this little octopus. ;D

I love octopuses, seen them a lot snorkeling and they are one of the most interesting things in the sea. They look so graceful underwater. Amazing video that shows just how adaptable they are!
