Time for a new clue then folks. ;D I am a true wood ant which smells strongly of formic acid if I am provoked into defending myself. I am found in many countries in Europe, but so far I haven't colonized any part of Britain, so that may help you to know which ant I am.

As far as I know this species is strictly European, and quite common in Northern European countries.
