Such lovely guppies I see both you and your mum have, one of my all time favourite little tropical fish along with good old neon tetras Where did you buy those gorgeous male guppies from if you don't mind my asking? Great videos by the way, nice and clear and sharp.

We go to 3 shires garden centre near Newent to get the majority of our fish, most of our best looking guppies died a few weeks ago sadly . The store is called aqua jardin or some thing along those lines . I believe the store took over what used to be a reptile store which sadly moved away into Gloucester. My personal favorite has to be the cardinal tetra (similar to neon only the red under belly is completely covered not just half covered), and our new endlers which are rather small but the colours are very bright (they look a bit like highlighters) and look similar to guppies only their tales are not as large, but I would say they are more colourful. ;D

Long time since I went to Newent, about 1982 was the last time I think I used to go all the way from Hereford down the Ponderosa aviaries between Gloucester and Cheltenham to buy tropical birds when I was living in the nurse's home at Saint Mary's Hospital at Burghill near Hereford; but that was back in 1978 just before I met up with Jen. Time flies sadly and I miss places I once knew well but have many happy memories of that part of England and over the Welsh border. ;D

I agree wood I lived down in Cornwall for the best part of 8 years before moving here, but then I'm getting used to it since my family move house a lot (don't know why.) Any feed back/constructive criticism would be appreciated as I want my videos to be of a good quality when I record ants of my own and in the wild.

Ok so I'm going to buy a new camcorder but I honestly don't know what I'm looking for, but I want it to be able to capture good images of ants. Can anyone help me out and give me a price range on how much this sort of thing costs.

You could try Currys or comet, or Amazon are good for them, so try this link Amazon Camcorders

I've tried them websites, and I'm looking for a camcorder that is suitable for shooting footage of ants so if anyone can specify what I should look for.

You could also try looking for a good camera as 99% of them now have a camcorder option too but like woodys, Best ones are them that you can change lenses for micro shots or movies for close ups.

Thanks Shane for the advice, at least I know what to look for now and have been surprised to say the least on what I found. It's in my budget range and if he replies positively I will get it. Hopefully soon I should be able to make some good quality ant videos.

I would always choose the best you can afford, or in your case how much your mum and dad are willing to pay up to. My HD camcorder is the Panasonic HS60, and both Panasonic and Sony have good reputations and a lot of my stuff is made by those 2 companies, Amazon.co.uk are selling some full HD camcorders at very reasonably cheap prices. The SD80 looks a good buy for the price at £210, but your parents may wish to consider the Sony HDRCX130EB Camcorder - Black (Full HD, 30x Optical Zoom, 3.3 MP) 3 inch Touch LCD at £230, depending on what they and your pocket money can stretch to?

Thanks wood, my parents won't buy me anything unless it's my birthday or Christmas so I have to earn my pocket money. Hopefully by the end of next week it will have arrived.

Your pocket money or the camcorder will have arrived? I know the problem as my mum tells me to wait and see what presents I get
