Yesterday I received a small colony of Messor barbarus with 1 healthy queen, 3 workers and a few larvae + eggs I am keeping them near my warm Acromyrmex Tank where they seem to like it. the queen has laid a couple of eggs I have noticed since I placed them near the acromyrmex tank. Today I fed them a small fruit fly which they are devouring at this moment, they don't seem interested in seeds at this current stage.

Placed the test tube inside a small tank filled with a sand compost mixture, the whole colony (queen 3 workers + 2 eggs) have left the tube and are just walking about the tank looking for a new nesting site.

the queen has dug a chamber out with one worker, the other TWO workers can't seem to find the nest though and they have the brood with them ill just have to wait I'm sure that they will find the queen and the one worker

after a few days, today I saw my queen come out of her chamber and walk around the entrance in a circle, and then she left and went back down... wonder why ?

Some times queens come out to forage, or just to look around their nest and see if it is all fine. If she has few workers she might be thinking of expanding her territory, but probably she is just being nosey
