Hi guys, this will be the place where I post about my 3 current ant colonies. ( Myrmica Rubra, Formica fusca and Lasius Flavus) I will also will mention queens that I have in test tubes I currently have a Myrmica queen and what people think is Lasius Brunneus. Well anyway, here is an update on my Fusca's what I did today. ;D 26/5/12I am happy with this colony! They seem to take in food every time I offer it to them, (with the exception of honey), it seems they love mealworms, which is great, as for me they are easy to get hold of! There seems to be a large increase in brood! A while ago many eggs were laid, some of which are now small larvae. There is around 4 large larvae and 2 cocoons. I also believe that the population has slightly increased, within the colony. The queen seems healthy, as well do the workers, both have large gasters. Still they refuse honey... I am very pleased that I decided to use a stone set-up, as it enables me great visibility of the colony, and where the food goes. Strangely (against what many have told me), food does not seem to go direct to the larvae, but stay accompanied by many workers. Recently I found out that they like “daddy long legs flies”, and millipedes. Sadly, pictures cannot be taken well, in this set-up. Workers: 25+
Brood items: 20

Sorry, not good quality... They're not bad Jon, don't put yourself down nest mate as ants are not the easiest subject to take pics of if they move about a lot; and they often move fast too.
