What a fantastic programme, might just have to watch it again in.HD, so glad I read this thread would of missed it otherwise I have decided to record it on the HD one and if it is very good we usually burn to a DVD. So Jenant and myself still have the pleasure of watching it later.

Was very good , caught it on iplayer after missing it on bbcfour but it was repeated at 2.am so set my sky to record it : )
The Guy organising the colony dig out Andrew was the chap who supplied my leaf cutters. ; )

Just watched the documentary in HD and without a doubt it has to be the most informative TV programme ever made about ant behaviour. For anyone who hasn't seen it yet, click the link below} Ant PlanetThe experiments on ants are simply amazing and you will learn more than you think about these fantastic insects.

Watched this tonight, what a fascinating insight to the ant world. The most suprising part for me was that the workers essentially decide the caste of the brood by how much they feed them, in response to various factors. I always assumed it was the queen laying different types of eggs. If you haven't watched this, you definitely should!
