So I have a queen which I believe is a Camponotus nearcticus (don't quote me on that). I checked her recently and on her wings (which she hasn't shed yet) there is some sort of mold or fungus growing on them. Is there anything I can do for her, she has about 10 larvae? Or is it a waiting game to see if she makes it.

She really needs to pull off her wings herself, but if you can pick her up safely without damaging her you could try gently pulling her wings or cutting them off; but only if the mould seems to be causing a problem or health issue, as I have only ever seen mould or fungus grow on dead ants and not a live ant; and certainly not on their wings. She no longer needs her wings as they serve no purpose any longer.

Okay... It doesn't seem to be causing he any sort of impairments as of now. So I'll keep an eye on it and see if she will remove them herself and make sure it doesn't start problems. Thank you for your response.
