Hey there as you may have read from my intro post I have made me own ytong nest, the test tube with the ants in are inside the tank on top of the ytong block, the ants are not in the nest as of yet but I have been watering it and waiting to see if the find the nest out for them self, but on the side of the ytong block it looks like there's efflorescence. Is this in anyway harmful to the ants, I have read about efflorescence and is says that its due to the water evaporating and leaving the slats behind on the block, I can't see it happening inside the nest only the sides on the outside. Thanks

As long as you don't actually get mould growing inside the nest, then the ants should be fine as they do their best to avoid any unsuitable areas of the nest.
