I keep seeing and driving in these disastrous floods, where roads have disappeared, fields and verges are swamped and feel for the ants in their nests Even around this area we have loads of nigers and flavus nests, but on saturated ground it doesn't look good for this Spring. I just hope they can survive this terrible constant wet and are able to beat the cold!

In my area the river Trent has broken its banks and it has been this way for 5 weeks now. One area hit hard contains vast colonies of Myrmica Rubra and Lasius Flavus. The outlook for the colonies is grim as the land is flooded to almost 4 feet. However, on a brighter note look how much new territory will be available to new colonies who can move in unchallenged in this years royal flights.

We've been quite lucky up here as there have been very few floods. My town is located in a valley which apparently stops low dense clouds passing over us, so there has only been of bits of rain here and there. Hoping it stays like this though or we might not see many ants next year :/
