Hello all.
A quick question about PTFE that I am hoping you will be able to help with.
I have had the glass for a tank made up just how I want it, but I need to stop the ants getting out the top. I hear that liquid PTFE is good for this, as it forms a slippery surface that the ants can not stick to it.
I bought some from Screwfix - 50g No-Nonsense Liquid PTFE, masking taped off the top inch of the tank and painted it on.
It took quite a few days to dry, but I'm a couple of weeks on since that now. However, the PTFE feels dry, but a bit sticky still. Is this normal? I was expecting it to be really slippery but it isn't.
Maybe the stuff I bought isn't the correct stuff? Maybe I need to recoat?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Having checked the product on the Screwfix site, maybe this might be a better choice than the liquid? PTFE Spray

the one I got that's in the link is not sticky I do not know if its really meant to be sticky as the small ants would get stuck to it and maybe die, but the one linked when its dry it looks like this its just puts a surface on the glass that the ants find it hard to walk on, they will not stick to it, I have about 3-4 inches from the top I hope this helps you

Sorry mine isnt sticky in the way that the ants would stick to it, more a bit tacky to touch.
I think the best thing might be to buy some of that spray you recommended and apply it over the top of the stuff that I have put on already
Thanks again
