I have recently acquired a Lasius flavus queen but she doesn't have a brood. What's the best conditions for her to lay? I need the best advice going to help her get established.

A test tube in the dark and quiet, until she gets her first workers. This species is difficult to feed once in soil set ups, as they dig themselves in.

I will get her set up in the dark and quiet. How long should I leave her for?

I am estimating around 10-12 weeks, would that be long enough to hatch a first brood?
