I managed to stop smoking for a couple years before, but stupidly started again, but time has come to give it a go again, am fed up of never having money, which at the moment is being a really good incentive, and with the help of these new electric cigarettes, its not been too bad, so am almost a week in, but can someone please tell me how to stop eating !!!!!

Willpower, and determination to leave fattening foods off your shopping list is the only way to go, as I don't get enough exercise but try to eat a lot of fruit. Not easy when your wife bakes delicious pies and cakes.

It is willpower unfortunately, and if you don't buy it you can't eat it. I know a lot of smokers choose to chew gum and the usual replacements like sweets, but then you get the weight problem. I can't see e -fags working completely, as you still have the action of hand to mouth sending the wrong message to the brain? I smoked for a while, but recurring chest infections put a stop to it. Now I have chronic bronchitus all year round, supported with inhalers and advoiding the triggers such as foods, scents and changes in air temperature. Look at your stress levels, and really think "why do you smoke?" because it costs, it smells everything, it's not public friendly anymore and if like me you end up with lung problems. I used to be in psychiatric nursing, it used to be the thing to smoke. All the patients smoked around the ward, and my ward manager was like a train. Now they have a fit if staff smoke in the grounds, or even in uniform.
