We have to keep a baby gate at the foot of our stairs, as living in an upstairs first floor flat our 2 younger dogs try to rush out the front door, or go into the hall if we get a caller as they're both very nosey. I was just about to go and have a bath when I heard an almighty thump and Jen yelling in pain. She had fallen down the last few stairs having stepped over the baby gate, and as a result hurt her ankle which was sprained a few years ago on some steps. Before I got down to see if anything was broken, Bess our youngest dog rushed to Jen with a very concerned look and trying to comfort her. Our other 2 didn't move an inch, but luckily Jen had just twisted her right ankle and no bones broken. I let her have the warm bath to soothe her pains, as I was relieved that she was not severely injured.

the amount of times I go through that baby gate in a day at the bottom of those stairs, is more than on 2 hands. Just shows you not to take things for granted, now just a bit battered on my shoulder and a mildly sprained ankle. The look on our youngest puppy's face was a picture of shock horror!

Thanks guys, just a little sore to walk but not as bad as when I sprained it coming out of a gift shop in Burley down the New Forest. That was a few years ago and ended up in A&E. I guess it will always be weak now.
