Good journal and nice video. My own 2 colonies seem to have taken well to frozen crickets, as the workers lick the water off the dead body of the cricket as it defrosts and swarm over it to drag it into the nest. Have tried roast chicken which goes down well too, and the amount of canary seed they consume has made both colonies very large.

Cheers, I don't know why the video seemed to skip, I jus left it recording. hopefully it will work out better next time. Yer I've put water melon in there too before and seen them drinking from it, they wasn't bothered about a bit of chorizo fat I put in though. but they like the ham

Really frozen crickets hay, hmm ill try and get some from the pet shop, as I do like the idea that they get some good old insect meat in there diet. I've not tried chicken, main reason been that there's never any left on my plate afterwards I have a tin of Bermuda Grass seed that's very fine and they collected a lot of this, also a cannery mixed seed which they seem to love too.
