Okay so I've decided to start an ant colony and while there is still time before the nuptial flight I wanted to get my habitat ready...I've done a lot of research but still left with unanswered questions... Okay I was thinking of getting a round fish bowl for a starter...is this too small? Should it be square? Anyway..and then I wanted to paste a pipe against the glass in a circular motion to the top, that runs from the queens nest to the place where I will feed them. The idea is to actually see the ants travelling to the top to gather food...because other activities will mostly be underground and away from the glass....will this work?

A square or oblong fish tank is better for observing ants than a round globe, and easier to keep clean as it gives more room. Rounded glass or plastic will distort the tunnels so watching the ants would mean turning it as they move. Not sure what you mean about the pipe, so any photos of your intended nest would help?
