They say never judge a book by its cover. This certainly applies to this driver who is a professional racing driver, but her driving instructors don't know this.

I'm getting my provisional licence soon since I asked for money for Easter. I can already go backwards and forwards in a car but I suspect there's more to it than that.

Good luck with it Driving the car and learning the highway code is only the half of it, experience, reading the road and anticipation of other drivers movements is the other half you carry on learning after your tests. One of my work collegues was surprised at what I told her one day about driving situations, and like I said you have to have had the knowledge and experience to know what to do in that situation, nobody can teach you. Plus it is also the expense now of owning a car that is the other thought I learnt to drive at 17 and a bit before that up them Welsh mountains round narrow lanes, no room for error as it was a shear drop down the Clydach rocks to the heads of the valley road below. My father said to me " you are going to drive at all costs", I soon got the hang of steering pretty quick and reversing out of awkward situations. Passed 1st time and dad made me drive down the M4 the next day, but I wouldn't like to learn it again now as they are supposed to be making it even harder in the future.
