Sounds like there should be plenty of wasps around this year for me to catch and freeze for my growing ant colonies

This must be misspelled for America as we don't have killer ants in uk.
I know America have fire ants that can kill people but nothing in uk that will be as destructive as them.
As for killer wasps, I have seen loads of them around and coming out of cracks in walls but killer ants in uk .

================= ================= Newspaper hype Shane, as they mean that Pharaoh ants can carry diseases that may harm humans; but I worked in a large hospital that was crawling with them on most of the wards and never saw any signs of the ants harming the patients, although they did invade the beds and ward office if you left any food about.

I wouldn't mind a colony of them lol What, the Pharaoh ants or the wasps? If it's the ants you want then don't let them anywhere near packs of dates at Christmas, as I opened a box when I was a student nurse and it was just one big heaving mass of tiny ants.
